Chemistry has been a challenging subject for many students, but rigorous preparation can give you better results. Reading all the chapters thoroughly from the textbook will help you develop a better understanding of the concepts. Many students have a fear of Chemistry because of which they start cramming the concepts instead of understanding them, which leads to poor performance in the final exam. Here are some tips to score good marks in chemistry. If you are good in calculation and formula application part, you can score well in physical chemistry. Prepare a chart of important formulas and practice numerical on each one of them. The theory part should also be revised as well.

You can also practice reasoning questions related to acidic, basic characters, melting and boiling points, comparison of isomeric compounds, mechanism of named reactions e.g., Reimer - Tiemann; Aldol; Kolbe; SN1, SN2. Biomolecules, polymer and chemistry in everyday life, are easy sections to score in and comprise 10 marks. Further, try to solve at least one sample paper weekly, so that you will get idea about the type of questions asked along with time management. Do not be afraid of the subject; by repeated reading from text book and writing the answers, you can surely score better. Also understand the marking system from the official website of the board.

Try to remain calm in the examination hall and read the questions properly.
